ESCO Couplings has a long history in the R&D field. In the past, our engineers succeeded in optimizing disc coupling design in order to reduce reaction forces to a minimum. They also eliminated phenomena such as fretting corrosion and buckling, which can limit the life of a lamination coupling significantly.

ESCO Couplings developed its own Multicrown tooth crowning form in which an ideal load distribution of forces was generated, distributed equally across all the teeth of the coupling. This tooth form is still the major strength of our Escogear couplings today.

About 25 years ago, ESCO Couplings started to specialize in High-Speed couplings. This enabled us to supply these couplings to the largest turbine manufacturers in the world. The reliability of these turbines breaks many records every day in terms of production.

Today and tomorrow, our R&D team, with its dedicated R&D engineers and its own testing laboratory, strives and will continue to strive to find optimal solutions using the latest technologies and materials.
